Aly Conwell focuses her practice in the areas of franchise, corporate, advertising, and trademark law.
Aly received her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law and her B.S. in Political Science from Austin Peay State University. Recognized by SMU as an outstanding law student, during her final year of law school, Aly was selected as a “Tsai Center Scholar” and worked closely with the Tsai Center faculty on programming and law faculty research. She also served as Vice President of SMU’s Veterans Law Association, Treasurer of the SMU Intellectual Property Organization, and Articles Editor for the SMU International Law Review Association. Additionally, she served as Chief Counsel of the SMU Small Business and Trademark Clinic, where she supervised student attorneys, prepared and prosecuted trademark applications, responded to office actions issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and prepared various documents for entity formation.
Before attending law school, Aly was a medic in the U.S. Army. She was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY with 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division and at Camp Casey, Korea with 2nd Infantry Division. Aly deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. Previous to joining the firm, Aly interned with two Dallas-based intellectual property firms, with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and with the The Honorable Warren C. Stracener for the Superior Court of California, County of El Dorado.
